This listing is for an incredible pair of natural C o l o u r C h a n g e P u r p l e S a p p h i r e silver stud earrings? Don't think that the affordable price means that these are inferior quality, I use only genuine natural gems and metals. I'm so excited to make rare gems into jewellery so that everyone can own something truly special! An amazing pair of genuine natural earth-mined colour change Purple Sapphire stud earrings. An authenticity report card from GLC is included at no extra cost for one of the stones, which is also online verifiable.
Because organising certificates costs quite a bit I only got it for one to keep the price of these earrings low. These pretty sapphires are not heated or treated in any way whatsoever which is very rare to find, but I've noticed that some untreated sapphires can have a slight change in colour under different lighting conditions. Colour change sapphires that are not treated in any way is incredibly rare so the fact that I was able to acquire two the same size to make a pair of studs with is really exciting! Genuine natural colour change gems are always very exciting to discover and these are no exception. These colour change sapphires exhibit two different hues in different lighting conditions, though it's more of a change of the shade of purple than two completely different colours which is normal for colour change sapphires (please read more info below). In natural or cool LED lighting the colour of these is an indigo purple. When viewed under halogen or incandescent light they change colour to more of a red-violet purple shade. I really love the style of these earrings.
They're a very elegant almost flame-like design with some adorable little pave cubic zirconia that really make these studs shine. Photos 2-5 were taken with LED and Halogen lights so you can sort of see both colours. Then photos 6-8 were taken with just the halogen light and in these you can see the incredible change to a red-violet colour. Photos 9-11 were taken with only the LED light.
These little gems are semi-transparent as light can pass through the inclusions present in the stones. These two sapphires have been faceted in an oval cut and are a total of 1.34 carats in weight. They are 4mm x 6mm in size. These beautiful gems are set into genuine solid 925 hallmarked sterling silver with rhodium plating to resist tarnishing and maximise shine. Please note that the gift box in the photos is for display purposes only as they are not suitable to present earrings in.
Color change and bi-color sapphires are exceptionally rare stones, most people are unaware of their existence let alone know what they look like. These gems are truly transfixing and marvelous to behold. Unsurprisingly, color change sapphires change color; but not in the way that the mood ring from your childhood did. Color change sapphires are stones that exhibit different colors in different lighting conditions, giving you two very exciting colors under the right conditions. Under daylight, or fluorescent equivalent light, the typical color change sapphire's basic color ranges from blue to violet.Under incandescent light (electric light bulbs, or candle light), the color changes to a range of violetish purple to strongly reddish purple. This effect is caused by the interaction of the sapphire, which absorbs specific wavelengths of light, and the light-source, whose spectral output varies depending upon the illuminate. Traces of metal impurities in the sapphire, such as chromium and vanadium, are responsible for the color change. Sapphires come in a wide range of colors, and each color has its own variations. In general, the more intense the color and the fewer distracting zones of unattractive color, the more valuable the stone.
When gem experts judge color-change sapphires, they rank the color change as weak, moderate, or strong. The strength of the stone's color change is the most important quality factor affecting its value, followed then by the actual color of the stone.
Most sapphire is enhanced by heating. Although it is not common for color change sapphire, some stones may be diffused or fracture-filled. Unheated and untreated color change sapphire is very rare, but not unheard of.Sapphire is known as a stone of wisdom and serenity. Fancy color change sapphire can be used to release mental tension and relieve depression. It can also help enhance meditation by calming the mind. For centuries, all sapphire has represented the heavens, innocence and truth.
Color change sapphire can benefit many chakras, as a result of its various colors. Depending on the color, sapphire can be the zodiac stone of Taurus, Virgo, Libra, Sagittarius or Gemini. It is especially connected with the element of water and is also the planetary stone of Saturn. Since ancient times, sapphire has been a symbol of truth, sincerity and faithfulness. It is a gem believed to bring peace, joy and wisdom to those who wear it.
In the past, sapphire was used as a powerful talisman for protecting travelers, adventurers and seekers. In fact, it was thought to be so powerful that it could continue protecting the original wearer of the talisman even after was passed on to another person. According to her view, gemstones are formed through the powerful combination of water and fire, therefore they held powers corresponding to these phenomena. She also believed that each stone had a certain, divine blessing from God. She said this about sapphire: Who is dull and would like to be clever, should, in a sober state, frequently lick with the tongue on a sapphire, because the gemstone's warmth and power, combined with the saliva's moisture, will expel the harmful juices that affect the intellect. Thus, the man will attain a good intellect. Because I'm using natural gemstones there will always be differences in the gems, as each one is unique. Many of the natural gemstones that I sell will have inclusions in them which I personally really like to see. Even with today's technology inclusions are actually not able to be faked so I tend to regard them as being just as good as an authenticity certificate! The photos that I upload are also part of the items description.
I take photos under different lighting conditions wherever possible to get the most accurate description of the items, but there may be some differences in colour or shade. If I haven't heard from you after a week an unpaid item case will be filed. This item is in the category "Jewellery & Watches\Fine Jewellery\Earrings".
